Things to keep yourself sane during a pandemic

Hello everyone! I hope you all are well and in good health. And if not, DO NOT WORRY. We have been listening to news regarding pandemics, racism, hate, and much more for ages. And this pandemic situation seems never-ending and quarantining even made us think that we not gonna go out of the house soon, right? But what’s the real magic, that a day comes after every night no matter what. Not less than magic, no? A day, a whole day for free! and nothing in this world is free.

But sometimes, all the motivational talk seems useless and the thoughts in our head seem much better, and we begin to crawl deeper and deeper and deeper. This something that most people do not able to recognize when it happens to them or maybe don’t know what is it, and it’s even worse when someone says something’s happening and you see the changes in them but deny it. All it needs is listening, with no advice.

IF you’re someone dealing with major stress or someone in your family or friends, Try this if these can help you relax little more:

  • START JOURNALING

Journaling is actually needed to sort out our thoughts. But what is that people do not want to write or maybe they ‘re into writing and it looks boring to them.

Then why it is so highly recommended by therapists and counselors, because sometimes we are not able to interpret what’s going in ou head. And by writing it down it becomes much easier to understand.

There’s a quote by Flannery O’Connor-

“I write because I don’t know what I think until I read what I say.”

  • PAINT

Painting or anything creative has an impact, that’s why most of the counselors and therapists recommend this to do whenever you feel blue. Colors make our minds do produce dopamine which makes us happy. We feel happy with the things which give us pleasure, therefore we need constant happiness to feel pleasure. And using colors give us pleasure, it’s something that our mind needs whenever theirs an irritation.

  • LIGHT MUSIC

Ah, such a good music!

By light music, it implies just music, no songs. Music that matches your taste, something classical or maybe music with just piano, violin, birds voice, anything that helps you keep you in a light mood.

For some people, it can be a full list of songs, but still, avoid sad or love songs, listen to songs that motivate you.

  • AVOID NEWS, READ SOME GOOD STUFF

Got it? Avoid everything that drain you.

Avoid news or anything negative, almost every house is nowadays is focused on corona news and channels 24/7, its like a new habit to listen to anything related to corona and anything going on in this world, just t satisfy our negative self, which is affecting mental conditions of almost everyone. The only thing is to avoid news and negative stuff is to cover that part with something motivational and funny read. read something related to your health, watch something funny, make a to-do list, and not-to-do list.

  • TALK

Say it like this!

If anything written above is not working, please try to talk. Just talk, whatever you want to say, try it on a mirror or with someone you love and trust, or maybe therapist if you want a solution. Talk about it, what is it that is disturbing you. Even if its nothing according to you, even if it’s uncomfortable to talk, even if there’s nobody to listen then go-to therapist, who can not just listen but provide an exact solution to it.

Therapists are trained for it and they will never say to stop it, they are there to help. Reach them, and if for some reason you can’t afford the therapist, make sure you have somebody who can just listen, nothing else. if not just write it down and throw it away, but try to get out of that thought process, it will really help.
